My academics projects
During my Bachelor’s in Film at Paris 8 University, I had the opportunity to work on several creative projects that allowed me to explore different filmmaking styles and techniques. These experiences taught me how to collaborate in a team, overcome artistic and technical constraints, and refine my creative eye.
Selected projects include:
A close-up short film, where each shot had to capture the intensity of emotions without any wide shots.
A stop-motion animation film (cut-paper), selected to represent student work during the academic year opening.
These projects helped me develop skills in visual storytelling, shoot organization, and post-production, while experimenting with original forms of narrative.
Short Film: “L’échappée Ecarlate”
Intensive Filmmaking Workshop, Year 3 – Paris 8 University, Saint-Denis
Collaborative project with Manon LeDorlot, Xiotang Yang, and Aysel Novruzzade
For this project, we faced a strong creative constraint: producing a short film without any wide shots. This challenge pushed us to rethink visual storytelling, focusing on details, textures, and emotions to convey the story effectively.
My contributions:
Co-wrote the script and storyboard to optimize staging.
Managed technical aspects during the shoot.
Assisted with editing and timing adjustments to enhance visual impact.
What I learned:
Working under constraints can stimulate creativity and lead to innovative visual solutions.
Animated Short Film: “Le Déluge”
Intensive Filmmaking Workshop, Year 3 – Paris 8 University, Saint-Denis
Collaborative project, selected to represent student work at the academic year opening
This project involved creating a stop-motion animated short film using cut-paper techniques. From designing sets and characters to capturing frame by frame, each stage required precision and close teamwork.
My contributions:
Created visual elements (characters and paper sets).
Animated frame by frame and coordinated production steps to maintain timing.
Highlight:
The film was selected to be screened at the university’s opening ceremony as one of the top student projects.
What I learned:
Patience and attention to detail are essential to produce smooth and engaging animation.
